11 free useful apps you can download for your new pc

You probably know what I’m talking about when you’ve just read the title of this article. One of the common problems when you purchase your new pc is installation of those essential softwares you’ll be needing in your daily routine. Of course the importance of the applications listed here depends on the individual using it. So I compiled a very general list most people will use. Here’s my top pick
- Firefox / Chrome – I’m using windows operating system and Internet Explorer just sucks for me. I just use it to download Firefox or Chrome. If you’re a hardcore internet surfer then firefox is the best fit for you because of it’s huge collection of Add-ons. If you’re the casual internet user then you’ll be loving chrome because of it’s lightweight and ultrafast loading speed.
- Avast – Anti Virus, Anti Spyware, Anti Rootkit, Email and Chat Protection. What more can you ask for? There’s no free antivirus software capable of giving that kind of service.
- Orbit Downloader – My main reason of choosing Orbit Downloader is because you can boost your downloading speed using this one. Although Chrome and Firefox can resume your downloads people mostly neglect to pause them if they’re in a hurry. Orbit makes it easy to auto pause your download if you shut down your computer. There’s a pre-built sniffer too which you can use to download videos online.
- iZarc – Supports extensive formats for Unpacking/Archiving your files. You don’t need to have a separate unpacker for your .rar or .zip or .tar format, with iZarc you can just click and wait. The only thing that bothers me with iZarc is their lousy icons which is not that good looking.
- Foxit – Reading Ebooks? Foxit is another good addition in the list because of it’s faster response and loading time compared to Adobe’s Acrobat Reader.
- Piriform Products(Defragler,CCleaner,Recuva) – If you’re looking for file undeletion, Superb Cleanup and a defragmenting utility, piriform products are good choice.
- Digsby – MSN,YAHOO,FACEBOOK,TWITTER,GTALK. You can save installation time by just using Digsby. I also suggest using trillian, but it’s still in beta stage.
- Open Office – I like Microsoft Office but it’s not free. If you love free stuff then open office will save your wallet from buying office tools.
- GOM Media Player – I really don’t know why GOM’s in the list. But GOM player is really cool and lightweight. Just drag and drop and supports variety of formats for playing music and video.
- ImgBurn – For Disc burning needs you can’t go wrong with ImgBurn. You can Backup your data and media to your DVD. Create audio cds from music files like mp3. Creating duplicates of your dvd/cd collections.
- Dropbox – It’s my favorite backup software perfect for preserving files. You’ll be loving it especially the folder sync which automatically uploads file to their own servers. No need for USB and other storage media if you have dropbox installed in PC’s and Laptops.
