Acer Aspire One 522 now available in Philippines

If you’re looking for an all around notebook this 2011 which you’ll be using for office work or semi-intensive gaming then Acer Aspire One 522 might be a perfect fit for you this New Year. I’ve been surprised that Acer Philippines provided this new model from Acer which holds the latest AMD C-50 Ontario APU in just a couple of weeks upon it’s released in neighboring Asian countries. Acer Aspire’s 522 processor is  one of the latest models in the AMD lineup which consumes less electricity thus improving battery life.

APU in layman’s term is like CPU + GPU combined into one so if you’re watching some high definition 720p movies then your notebook won’t suffer. I also noticed that this notebook has it’s own ODD (Optical Disk Drive) yet it has the hybrid specs of being a netbook and a notebook. This may seem a bargain to me cause Netbooks definitely don’t have an ODD which adds additional costs in purchasing an external ODD. Estimated price for Acer Aspire 522 would be around 17900 depending if you’ll going to purchase it on cash or credit card. Availability in malls and concept stores will be around 2-3 weeks or so.For brief specs see the details below…

  • AMD C-50 Ontario APU  (1Ghz Dual Core)
  • 2GB DDR3 RAM
  • 250GB SATA HDD
  • AMD Radeon HD 6250
  • DVD Super Multi Drive
  • 802.11 b/g/n
  • 3X USB Ports

[...] I’ve been strolling in SM Cubao and spotted a sexy looking beast  in the lower ground level. Samsung NF210 may be one of those typical netbooks that you’re thinking of but once you see it personally then you may get tempted buying it. Powered by Intel Atom N550, it gets the power buff that left it’s N45X predecessors to dust. I’ve been owning dual core netbooks and I’m impressed with the specs compared to the single core ones which boomed for the past months. Released around September 2010 it’s now available in the Philippines with the price around 24k which is about pricey compared to msi u160,msi u135 and the newer Aspire One 522 [...]
