Apartment for rent, Cheap Users Guide

by Kyle on November 22, 2010

Ok, so I’ve been here in Manila for quite a while now,and one of the matters that newbies and young professionals from the province who’s working and studying here is a place to stay. There are three cheap options, one is to rent an apartment, second is to stay in your relative’s house and last is to rent for a bedspace/dormitory. Students mostly stay for a dormitory while young and working professionals prefer to stay with their friends and rent for an apartment because it’s much cheaper and has the flexibility and freedom to do what they like. I myself, prefer in renting an apartment because it’s much stress free provided that you got good neighbors and the right amount of security. Of all of the places that I’ve been through here are the places in Manila which I recommend. I rank the places which I placed here based on this Factors, The biggest factor which contributes most in the chosen place is the time of travel.

good apartment to stayThis means the availability of your place to reach your work in the shortest amount of time. You might think that this is really biased but I took an account the general public. Take note that the hotspots that I’m. describing here which Influenced a lot are the central Business Established places, mainly Ortigas, Makati and Libis. If you are near to these places. It’s advisable to rent an apartment on the said city cause it’s secure and near to your fieldwork.

So yes, Those three cities are my main choices when your office is located on that place. But one of the problems when you rent in the said cities is that, Your expenses is high because of the high  rate that they charge. The closer you are to the main cities that I mentioned then the more you will pay for it. Anyway here, are my top choices of cities if you want to have a cheap alternative.

Boni – I chose Boni (Mandaluyong) because it’s accessible in Makati and Ortigas at thesame time. The traffic buildup is tolerable and it’s near the MRT station. If you work in Makati then it’s good for you because it’s just one ride in ayala if you take the MRT route. Apartment for rents are cheap enough and ranges from 7k-13k which can accommodate 4-8 persons depending on the number of rooms. The crime rate I think is relatively low, Jus be vigilant to your sourroundings and you’re good to go. Avoid places in Pasay, Alabang cause the crime rate is really really high. Apartments here are not susceptible to floods and even if they flood then it won’t remain stagnant for a long amount of time. If you work in a call center company you’ll probably agree with this one.

Pasig/Shaw - Pasig and Shaw station are good places to go into. Shaw is similar to Boni but the high amount of crime rate and a more accident prone one is a deal breaker to me. Pasig on the Other hand is good too, Apartments there are way too cheap. Kapitolyo by the way have great rows of houses which you can choose and is perfect if you work in Ortigas. Rides in Makati are readily available and you’re near in the very cheap Pasig Palengke which saves you a lot of money because of the cheap goods.

Cubao – You might disagree with  me guys but cubao isn’t bad at all if you work in Libis. The bad thing about cubao is that it’s crowded with a moderate crime rate. I warn you guys that crime in cubao is moderate enough. It’s advisable that if you rent an apartment in cubao then you must be in moderate numbers (4-8) just to be safe. I chose cubao to be part on the list because it’s just perfect if you work in libis. Travel time here is really irritating because traffic builds up in santolan station and MRT express is a bad idea if you’re going south bound.

I hope this helps you guys if you’re planning to work here In Manila, I might give you some tips on how to save expenses. I’ll just update this apartment for rent cheap users guide if the demands are high. ^^
