Honestly, I’m impressed with the idea, but then I just feel stupid doing this kind of thing specially that, I’m a webmaster too. If you’re a problogger I know you stumbled the word auto-blogging. The word is really popular and the technique is a favorite to lazy bums out there waiting for their wallets to fatten up. If you do not know auto-blogging, it’s a method in which you make a lot of blogs with the help of a tool. This tool or tools helps the webmaster update their blogs with their favorite advertising program running in the internals of their pages. This results to less effort but more money that comes in return making it a favorite choice of earning money online.

The video above describes what blogsense is capable of in automating your blogs. I’ve heard good feedback about this tool but never used it even once. It’s running in version 4 now and I believe the tool is now gaining momentum to blogistas and webmasters out there using the dark arts of blogging. Behind the funny name “After the Deadline” comes one of the most useful tools that you’ll find in the add-ons archive of mozilla’s website. If you’re a blogger or just an average joe you’ve got nothing to lose and more to gain installing this add-on.

The very first thing that you should do is to signup for a netvibes account. Once you have an account go to netvibes ecosystem and sign in using the account your made before.

When you login click the “Create and Submit” button at the navigation menu and click “Create Widget“. There are two options out there and what we need is the first one, so click “Create a Blog News Widget“.Enter your Blog Feed address in the form given or just type the url of your blog and netvibes will find the blog feed for you. After filling the feed address fill up the necessary information and accept the Terms and Agreement. Now, you will be given a permanent URL for the widget you made. Copy and save it in your email or in your hard disk. I haven’t find a way to recover it so you have to make a backup of it. Click the permanent URL and you’ll be redirected to your made widget. Now look for the “Share” link in your page and click it. Now customized it the way you want, remember to check the “Show more details” box since this will enable the thumbnails. Click the Update Preview and Grab/Copy the Widget Code.

Now all you have to do is to add the code in your blog. If you’re a wordpress user, go to your dashboard and add the “Text Widget” in your widgetized sidebar. Paste the code in there and save it. If you are using blogspot platform, Add a gadget and choose “HTML/JAVASCRIPT” and paste it there. You now have a working Recent post with thumbnail in your blog.

The main focus of Ping.fm is to do updating in different social-networks. But you can also post to different blogs using their service. At the time of this writing there’s a total of 46 available social networks and blogs in which you can submit your single post. Ping.Fm’s Dashboard is very user friendly, you first need to manage your account by providing your login details and the next thing you need to do is to create your post. Ping.fm is much suitable for microblogging sites since formating your post is very limited. If you provide a link it will automatically convert it to shor-urls which is good for plurk and twitter.
Blog It! is a facebook application made by TypePad. Contrary to Ping.Fm it has simpler interface and supports less services. If you have a facebook account you can access Blog It! easily and clicking the link here.

Write to My Blog is another tool which you can use if you want more advanced features compared to Ping.Fm and Blog It!. The WYSIWYG editor has the formatting options to make your post more customizable. It supports WordPress, Blogger, Movable Type, TypePad and Dot Clear but you can use their service without doing any registrations.


Posterous is a blogging platform itself but they provide an auto post service which you can add your different blog accounts and other social networking service. Posting in posterous can be done in two ways, by email and through your dashboard. The support of posting through email is one the innovations and feature that makes posterous unique. You can update your blog post through your mobile phone by just sending an email to them. Photo attachments are automatically converted to galleries and you don’t need to worry about storage and bandwidth

Using Twitter and using Youtube to multiply traffic in your targeted sites are two different things. Twitter is much like a news platform while youtube is the entertainment one. There are so many tutorials out there teaching you how to use twitter to gain site readership unlike youtube which is less. In any way, harnessing the potential of youtube to gain big readership in your site is a big advantage. Unlike Twitter who needs lots of time span to gain the trust of your followers, youtube takes a shorter route of fishing big traffic in your site. But keep in mind that you have to work intelligently since users will most likely stick to the main site (youtube) instead of visiting to your blog.

1. Proper use of annotations and linking – This is the most basic and the most important of all. Never forget to add a site link that will redirect your viewers to your site.Always make sure that you display an annotation at the beginning of your video. The reason behind it is that beginning of the videos are mostly blank and it’s the best place to plug in your site link. Putting an annotation with your link at the middle or end of the video is mostly ignored since users are usually drawn to the video itself. Don’t forget to add your url in the video description, most users read the video description thinking that they might stumble new information of the video itself.

SEO your videos – Keep some time to rethink of the proper keywords you will be putting in the video forms.This is like organic traffic in youtube and the second most important properties in multiplying traffic to your blog. Site annotations and linking is useless if users won’t find your videos.The good thing about doing SEO in youtube videos is that it’s much easier compared to google. You just need to emphasize the targeted keywords in your title,description and tags. Use your targeted keywords in a nice manner and add it to the right category.

Be the first to post – There are sites out there that owns a very cool infomercials or site commercials.Rip the contents of it by using some video sniffers and upload it in your account.Youtube won’t penalize you for doing that as long as you do not claim that you own the video. Remember that you are doing the site or company a favor by providing them visibility. Put a link to the original owner and a link of your site. It won’t hurt anyway. You can also get quality videos in video sharing sites other than youtube. Video rippers popularly known as youtube downloaders in user’s terms are great help. Use them wisely
6. Constant Updates – Your youtube account is your friend. Think of your viewers as your customers and not just a viewer. Entertainment is what they want and it’s what you provide. Constant Updates to your channel values professionalism which is the sole purpose of this guide. Having proper annotations and good SEO’d videos can be easily achieved but gaining the trust of your subscribers requires patience and hardwork.

I think it’s much easier for you to understand how Zemanta works by clicking this demo of  their work. Basically, Zemanta does the dirty work of finding related photos and links based from what you write in your post. For example you’ve been looking for a good picture that would fit in your topic and you’re having difficulty in looking for one then  Zemanta provides a list of photos that you can select in your posts. There’s also related articles and links that you can choose if you need one. Copyright matters are not a problem, all you have to do is concentrate on your writing. What really cool about this stuff is that you can drive more traffic in your site because zemanta would link to some of your articles if a user is in need of other references too.You can also  practice of internal linking  since zemanta will provide you a related link to your previous posts. Before I forget it’s compatible to almost all browsers, just download it in their official site.

The image above is a snapshot of the words that is being stolen in my blog. I made a dummy account in blogspot and tried copying my own content from this blog and posted it on my dummy blog. The site where I got this service is called TYNT. What you just need is to register your domain name to TYNT’s site and attach a script to your blog and you’ll get a free account that reports the content which are stolen from your blog.

What really good about TYNT is that they add an attribution link to the content stolen, so if ever they pasted it in their blog there will be a link back to where the content is stolen hence providing you instant traffic in case they topped the SERPs.  They also provide a link to the site who copied your content so contacting the content thieves will be easy in your part.

TYNT is available to popular blogging platforms like WordPress and blogger. The only problem i see in using TYNT’s tracking service is that the script used can easily be removed if you change a theme in WordPress(self hosted). I think they should have a plug-in based tracking service instead of attaching a script. Anyway I shouldn’t complain to this one specially that   TYNT’s service is free!. If you’re a blogger I strongly suggest that you use TYNT’s service it’s a 4.5 out 5 stars for me.

1. Read more hack – The younger days of blogger blogs will give you the hassle of tweaking the custom html code of your blog. But the new blogger blog has a feature of read more… similar to wordpress. You can add the read more section by adding the <!– more –> comment in the “Edit Html” section of your post editor or clicking the read more editor to the new post editor of blogger.

2. New post editor – One of the things I hate about blogspot is their post editor, it sucks really bad. The new post editor can be used by going to Settings -> Basic -> Post Editor section. The new post editor performs much better than the old one but still it still sucks to me.

3. Title Tag Hack – The title tag hack enables you to have an Search Engine friendly titles. I’ve posted an article here before describing how you can do it. You can check it out here.

4. Wibiya Toolbar – It’s the newest dig I found a couple of months ago and it’s one of my must-haves in my blogger blog. Adding the wibiya toolbar will do the work of adding the recent posts section, visitor notifier, Social bookmarking,Social Network Integration(Twitter,Facebook), language translation and RSS feeds subscription.

5. Google Integrated Search box – You can easily add your own google custom search box now, The widget is available if you click “Add Gadget” in your blog interface. The cool thing about this is that search results are displayed inside your blog and no redirection need.

6. Favicon – Yeah! that’s right the big “B” logo near the address bar and title tab is an eye sore to some. Adding your own favicon makes your blog look professional and cool. To add a favicon go to “Edit Html” in the layout section of your blog and look for this code “]]></b:skin>” (exclude quotation marks) and paste the code below after the “]]></b:skin>”

5. LinkWithin – One of my favorites too aside from the Wibiya toolbar. This improves your content visibility since the thumbnails of images in your post makes it good looking and thus improving Click Through Rate in your blog.

6. Commenting Systems – Intense Debate and Disqus thus it all for you from managing spams and informing you of new arrivals. The Facebook Connect helps a lot^^

7. Embedit Tool – Embeds doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, pdf, wpd, odt, ods, odp,txt, rtf, csv and html file formats. And they can download the emded file in your blog too.

8. The Floating Button hack – You can have a “Follow us”,”Feedback”,”Contact Me” floating button with your blog by going to Layout -> Add Gadget -> HTML/JAVASCRIPT and putting the code below and replacing the links needed.

9. Apture – One of the newest hack/plugin you can have. It beautify your posts and adds wonderful effects to links and other types of media. This is a must have. I even use it here in my blog

10. Email Subscription Form - For good traffic conversions you definitely need this one.  You can add this hack by logging in to your Feedburner account(Register if you don’t have one). Click on the “My feeds” at the top page and click your blog that you registered with your Feedburner account.Click Publicize Tab and Email Subscriptions option and choose Feedburner radio button as the service to provide the email subscriptions. Choose your settings under subscription management. Click Activate and copy the code which is generated, go to your layout section of your blog and click Add Gadget -> HTML/JAVASCRIPT and paste the code you copied and Save.
