Google Social Search up and live today

The launch of Google Social Search today will power Google search results with social networking data from your profiles. This will result to increase in visibility with your contacts and connections since their status updates, blogs and anything related to their social life will be pulled out by Google. I’m really not excited with their service since I’m not that curious to the people around my social circle. I usually log to my social networking hubs and check them since it’s the place where I mostly hang out online with the exception of my blog. The good news about this one is that if you have a wide expansion of you social profiles then you’ll have a difficult time checking them.So basically Google search will simplify things a bit to get you out of the hassle in logging in with your social accounts. Here’s a video of Matt Cutts discussing how Google social search works and another video on a quick google social search demonstration.

What’s really cool about social search is that you’ll have more relevant search results if your friends are really active in their social networking activity. Just remember that you have to provide links in your google profile on which social networking will you want to be crawled. Google social search is not enabled by default they’ll be needing your participation on what social network they will be starting.
