Top Lists of Free Password Managers available for download

Having a hard time memorizing passwords is a real pain in the butt. The best solution for this is to have your choice of password managers. The thing is, you just need to remember one password and that is the master password and forget all the passwords you memorized in your different email accounts and user accounts. In terms of security, Password managers available in this post is totally secure although you have to take note that using an online version of password managers is a bit prone to malicious attacks since it’s stored in external web server. Here’s a good list of high quality password managers available for download

1.  Keepass - is a desktop application which is freely available for download. It’s one of the best desktop managers around. You need to remember  only one master password and all you need to do is to manage your workbook of existing accounts. You can sort your different accounts using a user friendly interface which is very easy to learn. The Keepass database is just one file so you can easily transfer stored passwords from different computers. There’s a plugin page in it’s website which might help you in recovering passwords saved in the browser but the integrity of the plugins are somehow risky since all of them are not checked by keepass itself.

2. Passpack – Is an online password manager which you can subscribe for free. There’s also a pro version if yo want more storage and if you work in a company with user collaboration. Although the password storage is very limited it’s functionality of having a toolbar to auto login in your accounts is really cool. You just need to install a bookmarklet and click it and then passpack takes care of the rest in logging to your account. You don’t need to type your passwords and avoid the hassle of doing some typos. There’s also a Passpack Desktop application based on Adobe Air. It’s a Downloadable tool which synchronizes with your online account and allows you to access your Passpack data even without an internet connection.

3. Roboform – not just a password manager but works as a form signup automation. The pro version works really really great if you’re working in a company but the free one is absolutely perfect in your personal needs. It’s downloadable application is very easy to use with a bookmarklet feature that can be embedded in your browser. I strongly suggest to install roboform for the sake of password keeping and form signup automation which makes account registration extremely fast.

4. Lastpass – For the hopes of the users who’s looking for a password manager and form automation for all operating system lastpass saves your day. Works like roboform but with portability to all major operating systems(Windows,MAC,Linux).
