New MacBook Pros unveiled by Apple

by Kyle on February 24, 2011

The new line of Macbook Pros has been finally unveiled by Apple which showed some improved specifications better than it’s previous release. I was expecting to see case redesigns but it seems that apple still wants it’s signature white aluminum case body which everybody is familiar with. So far the biggest highlight of their new line of Macbook Pros would be the Thunderbolt technology which is capable of delivering 10 gigabits per second data transfer rate. They also ditched their built-in iSight camera which was now replaced by Facetime HD, offering 720p video recording and high quality Facetime Calls (Skype Anyone?) for new Mac owners.

One good thing that I immediately noticed would be i5 processor clocking the 13-inch macbook pro which is a big improvement over the Core 2 Duo processor. The 250gb storage has been upgraded and is bumped up to 350gb of disk capacity. New Macbook Pros ditched the NVIDIA grapics chip and now holds Intel HD 3000 having 384mb of shared memory while the bigger models (15 – 17inch) gave it’s way to AMD’s Radeon. Of course this doesn’t come cheap, as we all know it Apple products will surely drain your cash juice to their products. If you’re out of budget then I suggest you take a look at these Sony VAIO YB series which costs a fraction of these macbook pros. As for availability here in the Philippines is not yet determined but will surely come this time of the year for sure.
