Samsung Series 9 now available in the Philippines

Update 06/01/2011: If you’re looking for another ultraportable aside from macbook air then there’s also ASUS UX21 sporting the same form and style.
The rumored macbook air contender, the Samsung Series 9 debuts at last in the local market and is up for grabs in stores this March 25 of 2011. It’s been more than a month since I featured it here highlighting it’s ultra thin design which goes as thin as the macbook air. Thickest point of Samsung Series 9 is 16.25mm compared to macbook air’s 17mm.
Head to Head Samsung Series 9 beats the air. It’s improved memory and storage standard goes to a compelling 4gb RAM and 128gb SSD storage. Samsung series 9 also knocks the Air in processing power as it’s Core i5-2357m beats the old school Core 2 duo from aspect to aspect. Form factor is also as sexy as it can be having the curvaceous design similar to it’s Samsung NF210 without the plastic feel.
Only one thing bothers me now as it’s price point is for the fat wallet owners. 80,000Php as we all know is a premium pricing which goes beyond Apple’s Air. It’s not an issue though as the performance outweighs every aspect of Apple’s ultraportable flagship. If you have cash to burn then mark your calendar this coming Friday and get one now.
