New social networking features are now implemented to the new Trillian Astra 4.1 beta. Although it’s still in the development process this chat client promises another options for users who wants to keep in touch with their favorite social networking sites by integrating more Facebook and Twitter features. Trillian 4.1 beta now supports story links and avatar pictures in more locations on the interface. The twitter features are much improved by adding the basic features of Tweetdeck(possibly much better). If you’re looking for another Tweetdeck alternative, Trillian astra 4.1 is worth a try.If you want to see the full list of changes to Twitter and Facebook usage check out the Cerulean Studios’ Blog for more info.
The current Trillian 4.0 works ok at windows 7 but the 4.1 released has much improved by leveraging the new Windows 7 APIs. The integrated meters featured in Windows 7 is in full use by seeing file transfer progress in their taskbar so you won’t be bothered by taking a look back if it’s finished. There’s also an improved way of using taskbar thumbnails in windows 7 by making a video call. You’ll be seeing a live video stream without the uncessary parts of the window. Please take note that Trillian 4.1 is in beta so you might expect some bugs while using the client.
