Update 07/11/2011: I made a list of currently available blackberry phones in the local market so if you’re looking for one then you can head on the link I provided.

If you own a blackberry here in the Philippines, chances are you’ve been using it mainly to connect to your social networking accounts. Blackberries are really good in terms of messaging and posting updates to social networking profiles cause not only were they cheap (globe promos) but they have one of the coolest keypads which are addicting to type with. But there’s one thing that keeps bothering me when I use my blackberry 9300 curve, and that is when I unable to connect to my Twitter account for two straight weeks which bugs me a lot as I’ve been concentrating my effort to enrich my twitter profile.

All I can think of why I’ve been experiencing connection problems to my twitter account in my blackberry is that RIM has been doing some upgrades for it’s blackberry application. Other than upgrades for the app then there must be something wrong with the connection layer between blackberry and globe.

I haven’t found any solution on how to fix these or maybe it just happens to my handset. But most of the people I know who owns a blackberry, be it online and I know personally have been experiencing similar problems as well when connecting to their twitter account. I haven’t tried a normal connection without using globe’s blackberry social but it seems that the results would be the same.

If you happen to experience this blackberry twitter connection problem and discovered a workaround or tweak of some sort to connect to twitter application then you can just hit in the comments section and share it with us if it’s ok. Other Social networking profiles such as facebook and Instant messengers have no problem connecting online. Le’ts just hope that my first hunch of RIM doing some upgrade on their twitter app is the main cause of this.

Ivan Padilla – leader of carjacking and robbery syndicate is now known dead. But before the highly controversial death, Police used Facebook and Twitter account that leads to arrest to other members of the gang. Police have said that they’ve been using coded or should i say “Military termed words” to communicate their criminal intentions and plans before they execute them. One of the members, Ryan Francisco spilled the beans and told the police his twitter and facebook account which they used to lure out other members to frame them up.

The idea of shutting down your computer remotely have been discussed a long time back in this blog. Although possible to shutdown your pc using the previous method, it’s still a tedious task by completing preliminary setups to meet the requirements of remotely shutting it down. The good thing is that there’s an easy way to amaze your friends and what’s good about this is that it’s so helpful that you can do more than just shutting down. You can download a file, set on stand by mode or lock your workstation.

If you’re still in doubt then perhaps knowing that “Tweet My PC” exists will clear things up. Tweet My Pc is a free application where you can download to integrate your twitter account in doing a couple of interesting things with your pc in a remote location.

Tweet My PC is a free application where you can download here. It’s an application specifically for windows and mac. Once downloaded you can install the application and input some account details which includes your twitter account and email (gmail only). Tweet My PC will function only with an internet connection. It will scan your Twitter Stream for available commands that is recognizable by the application and execute it immediately once detected. Here’s a list of command that you can send to your twitter stream that is recognizable by Tweet My Pc.

Lock - locks windows system

Physical Memory – Returns the physical memory of your pc

Virtual Memory -Returns the virtual memory of your pc

IP - return your ip address

hibernate - makes your pc in a standby mode

Screenshot – takes a screenshot of your desktop and automatically post it to twitpic

getprocesslist – emails you a list of running programs with it’s process id which you can use by using the command below

kill <process id> – terminates the running program that is assigned with the process id given

download <url> – downloads a file in the given url. Tweet my Pc only accepts bit.ly url

getfilelist <drive> – returns a list of file in the said drive

getfile <filepath> - sends the file as an attachment to your email.

The commands are not case sensitive so you don’t need to worry about letter capitalization. If Tweet my pc recognized the command and executed it properly then it will reply in your twitter stream that the execution has successfully made.

So how do you control your pc remotely using this? There are some tricks of controlling your pc without directly using twitter. If you have a mobile phone and your country supports mobile twitting then it’s the easiest way to control your pc.Posterous, a blogging platform which supports twitter integration is another trick. Just send an email to twitter@posterous.com with the proper commands and it will directly forward it to your twitter account. Smart phones which supports WiFi can also be used to access directly to Twitter. FutureTweets is a twitter application which you can use to schedule to post a twit in a predetermined time.

The launch of V2 of Tweet My Pc opened up great ideas to further expand pc usage using twitter. I think Tweet My Pc is such a good candidate for an award in open applications. If you really like the software and have some cash to spare, you can donate a portion of it to their official site. ^^ Let’s help Tweet My Pc for it’s improvement.

The last twitter application I presented is Twalkin which makes you twit and Talk at the same time .And now another web application for web masters and blog masters makes you create your own twitter links to a rss feed. Twitter applications spread like wildfire, even though I don’t use twitter much like facebook it’s still a big help if you’ll be using it for real time search and blog promotion.

As usual registration and feed creation is very simple to accomplish, just input your twitter account details and Readtwit will take care of the rest. Creating your feed would take some time for it’s content to be generated, It took me about 10 mins to have some content in my feed. Although the idea is very simple it’s really cool to have aggregated content if you are following good people which provides good twitter links. You can also submit it to rss feed directories which could help you in your link building campaign. If you’re feed is fed up with useless content you can filter it out by going to the settings page and list the persons you want to be excluded. You can also provide some keywords which you don’t like to be included in the list. Remember that setting the update interval time to a lower value will result to more generated content in your feed and setting it up to a higher value will give you less.

There’s no doubt that google is the biggest entity in the internet. With it’s search power, popularity, applications and contributions there’s no one out there who use the internet without knowing google. Almost all things you’re looking for in the internet can easily be found by google if you know how to use it. But if google is giving you a hard time then there’s another buddy you can lean on. Twitter!!!.

You bet it, Twitter is another cool platform you can use if google fails you to give an easy way in searching. Although Twitter is used mainly for tweeting, it’s search engine is one thing that is rarely used by people using the internet. The main difference of Twitter search to Google Search is that Twitter’s search engine is real time and Google is based on keywords. So what’s really good about Twitter is that you can find the latest news and trends about a certain topic since it’s based from the people’s tweets. It delivers information (Tweets) instantaneously.

twitter search panel

You can try using twitter search by clicking this link. The main page is nothing to be surprised of and it looks similar to google. If you notice there are some keywords and topics at the bottom of the search form. They’re the mostly talked topics in twitter and if you’re looking for a chat you can just click the link and find people talking about it they’re also called trending topics. The hash tags represented by this sign (#) is a symbol used to tag a term or keyword in twitter. Hash Tags are used for organizing tweets. People use it so they can refer their tweets to something. One good application of a hash tag is that you can use it to communicate with your group effectively. For example you’ve managed to arrange a special code like “#tyugbs” which your team mates can use to know a special information about a topic you intend to research. They just need to input it in twitter search then you can extract all information that your team has relayed. One thing I do know is that there are sites like hastags.org and hashtweeps.com that utilize the use of hash tags so that those terms with hash tags appear on their search engine in real time. Anyway there are some interesting twitter applications out there you can use to manage your account. Monitter is a good application you can use to leverage twitter search if you are looking for several keywords since it uses three search forms. So now that you know twitter search you can put it to good use if google fails to bring you trending/new information.
Well I’m not that lucky when I checked that there’s nothing new about my twitter account. Hardcore Twitter fanatics know how important Retweet is when it comes to promoting your news/content but twitter has not been adding the feature even though it’s that popular.
Their plans was to see how this feature goes with this small release and if there’s something that needs to be worked out they can easily do some changes with it. I’m just thinking on how will this affect the users who’s been twitting a lot but never know the feature before? No matter what the consequences are the effects will definitely positive.

New social networking features are now implemented to the new Trillian Astra 4.1 beta. Although it’s still in the development process this chat client promises another options for users who wants to keep in touch with their favorite social networking sites by integrating more Facebook and Twitter features. Trillian 4.1 beta now supports story links and avatar pictures in more locations on the interface. The twitter features are much improved by adding the basic features of Tweetdeck(possibly much better). If you’re looking for another Tweetdeck alternative, Trillian astra 4.1 is worth a try.If you want to see the full list of changes to Twitter and Facebook usage check out the Cerulean Studios’ Blog for more info.

The current Trillian 4.0 works ok at windows 7 but the 4.1 released has much improved by leveraging the new Windows 7 APIs. The integrated meters featured in Windows 7 is in full use by seeing file transfer progress in their taskbar so you won’t be bothered by taking a look back if it’s finished. There’s also an improved way of using taskbar thumbnails in windows 7 by making a video call. You’ll be seeing a live video stream without the uncessary parts of the window. Please take note that Trillian 4.1 is in beta so you might expect some bugs while using the client.

Note: The method I used in this article is not used using my twitter account you see in my sidebar. This method is completely whitehat and is not considered a spam. You can really earn money on twitter by just following the methods I mentioned.

Twitter is one of the most popular sites in the internet. People use twitter mostly for micro blogging, sending daily twits to their followers not knowing that they can do more than that. Little do they know that twitter is more than just sending daily tweets but as a tool for earning lots of money online. If you’re an internet marketer or the kind of a person who’s been around in the internet for so long you probably know what I’m talking about earning $$$ in twitter. For the newbies out there, I won’t be stingy to tell you the methods I know on how you can use twitter to fatten up your wallet. I’ll tell you later on this post on how you can make your daily tweets a living cash machine.

If you are thinking that this is a scam you’re definitely wrong, many people are utilizing twitter to earn extra income and most likely they don’t share their ways on how they do it. So if you kinda stumble this article, you’re in great luck. The concept behind this is to have massive amounts of followers in your account and from there the quest of earning money is easy. The first step is to make a twitter account, if possibly register a new email and use it to register on twitter. From there we concentrate on gaining tons and tons of followers on twitter. The truth is if you really want to have massive followers there are many sites there that offers massive following but what I’m showing you here is the most effective by far, without affecting the efficiency of earning money. Sites like twitterfollower, twollow or twit-follower makes things easy but people who use these sites are mostly people who also wants to earn money online just like you or some use twitter but not as active as hardcore twitter users used to be.

To have massive followers, you start to the most simple step, use the search box and type in keywords and follow the people who tweets normally. What I mean by twitting normally is that they belong to the category who’s not promoting a site or product. If you follow these people they will follow you too. On this way you eliminate spam followers, Of course this one is very time consuming and would give you just a hundred of followers in a few days time. Well you are definitely right so I’ll give you a good tip on how you can get massive amounts of followers without the hassle of typing keywords in the search box. The simplest method is to look for the twitter profiles of celebrities, athletes or any person you know that is popular, I suggest that you start to the celebrities in your local place since they have less followers compared to international superstars. From there go their profile page and click the link containing their followers. Follow the followers who follows the celebrities, be very choosy to the one you are following and eliminate spam-followers as possible. Do this method everyday as much as possible be very patient and work double time. I assure you that you’ll reap the rewards of following non-spammy persons.

Now that you have massive amount of followers the easy part comes along. Sign up for monetization sites that offers to pay you by sending tweets. I won’t discuss the details on how you will use the sites since there are instructions in the sites I’ll mention. I suggest that you sign up for RevTwt and TweetBucks as a starting point if you’re a complete beginner. This service is a pay per click style of marketing, this means that when someone clicks the link of your tweet you earn a money from each link they click. Imagine now, you got 20k followers then they all click on 6 links,Boom you earn really fast . The other method in which you can earn money is the affiliate method in which affiliate marketers use. Clickbank is by far one of the best affiliates you can use. The concept is that you provide a link that clickbank provides in their marketplace and then tweet that link to your followers, if the follower bought the product you advertise then you earn a revenue from it. This marketing strategy works big time but mostly your followers won’t buy the product so the best chance in having more sales is to expand your followers. There are also other ways in which you can earn money aside from the two monetization strategies I mentioned but for now let’s stop at this two first.

The quest for earning money is not finished yet, what we want to attain is to have a semi automated tweeting after you gain massive amounts of followers. What we want to do now is to schedule our tweets automatically, we don’t want to spend most of our time posting tweets for long hours! that’s super time consuming. Here comes FutureTweets.com, FutureTweets automates your tweeting so that you can tweet even if you’re away from your computer. Whewwww!!! Now put the tweets that you want to share with your friends and relax, you can now wait for the cash to rise. Before I end this post I have to say one more thing, Keep your tweet count below 200 per day. Twitter is getting strict to people who use their service to earn bucks, you might get penalize and start all over again. And lastly your followers are getting smart, think of them as your customers and tweet like a normal person do. What I mean is have a mixture of normal tweets and money-making tweets. Be creative and appealing to your followers by providing them tweets with a mixture of normal ones like “I’m starving can’t wait to eat my favorite menu for today ” or something like “This is a must see picture of Meagan Fox” or something they’ll love to interact to like this “This site can show you the face of your baby just by putting your pic and your partner’s pic”. You must provide them something interesting and it will backfire to you when you provided them your money making links. Just remember they are your customers and they hate spam. Use your account like a normal one and retweet as possible if you are online and have nothing to do. Maintain a good list of followers and consider the 5 phenomenal twitter applications I wrote in this blog to aide you in your account management.

Twitter applications whether it’s web based or downloadable in desktop are indemand right now because of massive hardcore twitter users. Yet some of them are just big failures while others do not have rich features twitter users won’t need. I got my top 5 super cool twitter applications with it’s unique specialties you will surely love. This apps are not dissapointment and there’s only one thing I could say about them, they’re phenomenal.

1. Truetwit – If you’re a hardcore twitter user or just a twitter newbie, then one of your main concerns is to eliminate spam followers. Truetwit is one of the best applications out there that deals bots and black hatters by providing CAPTCHA validation to the person who follows you.The concept is very simple yet very effective, I’ve seen several individuals who use this service and they just have a massive non-spam followers that follows their tweets. You’ll be thanking this application once you’ve used this,it’s twho thumbs up for me. As time flies number of spam followers are ridiculously increasing and nothing beats Truetwit in reducing those pesky bots.

2. Tweepular – Truetwit and Tweepular are perfect partners in your toolbox. Unlike Truetwit who does the work of eliminating spam followers and bots. Tweepular does the managing of your followers very easily. Know who’s your following that’s not following you, Track their interactivity and unfollow them. The interface is very user friendly and makes it easier for you to understand how the system works. The Sorting is really fantastic in which you can categorize the # of followers, Date Added, Last updated Tweet and their names. There is a Tweepularity section where you can find active twitter users which is not-bot certified. If you really want to take good care of your account Tweepular and Truetwit is like egg and bacon of twitter applications.

3.Socialoomph - What I really like about this is Tweet Scheduling and a couple of features which you can find in the free version. Welcoming your new followers with DMs is a good contribution in your twit community and the task of unfollowing users who unfollows you is a great feature(Nothing beats Tweepular). And if you have so much clutter in your Direct Message inbox then it’s just a single click away of cleaning it.

4.Futuretweets – Unlike Socialoomph with so many features, Futuretweets concentrates to one specialization and that is super scheduling. Set your tweets daily, weekly, monthly or even yearly. Forget the tweets and get back to it if you have plans of changing it. Just don’t forget to regulate your tweets since twitter is regularly checking for spam users who use automated way of sending messages.

5.Tweetdeck – My all-time favorite of all, tweeting with tweetdeck is like having burgers with the most delicious patties. You can just easily send tweets because of URL Shortening and inserting picture automatically. You can also customize the column too using your own preferences and categorize tweets and DMs. You can see user’s profiles directly if you’re curious who’s tweeting. Replying and sending retweets is just a click away with tweetdeck. This is a must have to all twit lovers.
